This was purchased as a gift for a "santa". His suit was all worn out and he needed some new duds.I initially ordered a "plush" santa suit. They should describe it as "furry" because that material is like the type of fur they make most stuffed animals out of. The inside of the fabric of the "plush/furry" suit is stiff and scratchy. Some of them are lined...but the lining is not of a natural material and if you are prone to being a warm person, you will most likely overheat in the ones that are lined. Also, the jacket on the other suits were way too short...unless you are under 5'10" or so.This suit however, is not lined. It is made of the same texture and fabric as the outside of the suit. It is a very soft velour type fabric. Not fleece, or felt...also not velvet...but velour. It is very soft and has a wonderful soft drape to it which adds to the lines of the costume. The color is a dark red...very rich looking...not as dark as maroon, but definitely on the crimson side of red. Also, the white trim is wide, and very thick. It is at least 6 inches wide. The gloves will fit a large and wide man's hands. The hat is also very roomy and will fit a rather large head as well. The belt is wide and although it is a type of vinyl...it has a cloth feel to it on one side. The jacket has a zipper and a snap at both the neck and the bottom of the jacket. The snap at the neck is not too tight, and gives Santa plenty of breathing room. The pants have a very wide elastic top that is well stitched in so that it does not turn like the thin type of elastic tops can do. Also, the pants are roomy and quite long. Although the jacked does not have pockets, the pants have a very deep pocket so Santa can carry all of his proper "Kris Kringle Kredentials". The boot spats are heavy duty as well and nice and wide for thicker type calves. Also the band that goes under your shoe is very sturdy and wide. The suit came carefully packaged with layers of tissue paper in between the folds of the costume. This is important because with some of these suits, the red color can wear off onto the white fur and it turns the fur a pink color. That pretty much ruins the whole suit. (This is a good thing to remember when you go to pack it up and store for next year. ) Also, the belt loops are great...nice and sturdy and they hold that belt in place so it doesn't slide up and down or side to side. Could not ask for more at this price. It looks to be much more expensive but is very affordable for years of fun, as long it is taken care of.The "Santa" who received this suit as a gift was very delighted!!! He had been looking at some suits that were much more expensive...like in the $300 plus range...but he said that this was just as nice if not nicer! The velour was softer than the velvet suits he had been considering. He can't wait until next year to wear it!!! This Santa has his own long white beard, and hair and "proper bowl-full-of-jelly mid-section"...so if you need these options, they must be purchased separately because this suit does not come with it...(or perhaps try growing your own). The santa that fits this suit is tall...at least taller than 5'10" to 6'4 at least. The jacket is about 35" long.I want to mention that the customer service was very good at the Amazon seller I purchased from which was "GRIM REAPERS" costumes. I had been disappointed in the past with what I had received for my money with other santa suits...so I inquired in advance with some questions, and they were very prompt and thorough to answer me back. I would purchase from them again and I highly recommend this Santa suit by Halco.
